Wonderful Indonesia Trans Studio
Bandung will see the opening of Trans Studio’s largest Indoor Theme Park yet, after its success in Makassar, South Sulawesi. Advertised as “An Integrated World Class Family Entertainment Center”, its launch on Saturday, 18 June, is perfectly timed to take advantage of the long school holidays in Indonesia.
It is nearly assured that Trans Studio will be jammed with crowds from Jakarta, who normally seek the cool mountain air of Bandung anyway during weekends. Bandung has also grown into a major tourist destination for Malaysians with more flights offered between Kuala Lumpur and Bandung direct.
Some of the Trans Studio rides include the Yamaha Race Coaster. This is one of 3 top extreme roller coasters in the world with a speed of 130 km/hour racing down from a height of 49 meters.
There is the Giant Swing which swings to a height of 38 meter; the Trans Car offers racing cars along a 7 hectares track; Vertigo spins riders at a 45 m. height; 4D Marvel superheroes has the Hulk, Spiderman , Fantastic 4 and others performing.
Then there is the World of Giants, where you can feel as if you are in Liliput land; there are the Dragon Rider, Jack and the Beanstalk and many more exciting rides.
For the more serious-minded child, Trans Studio offers an insight into TV and media production; the Lost City will give participants the sensation of adventure similar to Indiana Jones, passing two waterfalls, and of course there is a large Amphitheatre presenting international and Indonesian performances, musical shows and top bands.
A through ticket costs Rp. 200,000 per person.
Bandung is easily accessible from Jakarta in a comfortable 2 hour drive by the Cipularang toll road. Wings Air also serves Bandung-Yogyakarta, while Bandung is also served by more domestic flights on Merpati Nusantara Airlines, Srivijaya Air and Susi Air
Internationally, Malaysian Airlines flies Kuala Lumpur-Bandung, once daily. Indonesia Air Asia serves the route twice daily, and Firefly plans to open Johor Bahru – Bandung starting 16 August.
